Casey was previously an associate attorney at Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, Albany’s largest law firm. Casey then joined her mother, Anne Reynolds Copps, in practice as an associate with the firm in 2012 and became Anne’s partner in 2014, creating Copps DiPaola, PLLC, the first mother-daughter law firm in the Capital Region. In 2018, Lorraine Silverman joined the firm as a partner and the firm name changed to its current name. Casey focuses her practice in all areas of family formation, including adoption law, assisted reproduction technology law and surrogacy law. Many of her clients come to her when they are first exploring options for growing their family and she is able to talk them through the option of adoptions, assisted reproduction and surrogacy and explore which might be the best fit given their situation.

Lorraine R. Silverman is a Partner with Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC. She practices exclusively in the field of New York Divorce and Family Law and represents individuals in the negotiation and litigation of all family law matters, including, but not limited to divorce, child custody & parenting time, complex asset division, modification & enforcement proceedings, pre- and post-nuptial agreements, conflict resolution, paternity, grandparent rights, spousal support (alimony), domestic violence (Family Court Orders of Protection), companion animal (“pet”) custody disputes, and cohabitation agreements. She has extensive experience representing clients in both Supreme and Family Court. As part of her practice, Attorney Lorraine Silverman also serves as an Attorney for Children. Kayla Leder is a Partner with Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC. She practices exclusively in the areas of matrimonial and family law. She has extensive experience representing individuals in the litigation of separation, divorce, custody, child support, spousal support, qualified domestic relations orders, and domestic violence matters. Prior to joining Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC, Ms. Leder’s private practice focused exclusively upon the representation of individuals in divorce and family law matters. Ms. Leder worked at another boutique family law firm in the Capital District, devoting her time to the representation of clients in a wide array of complex matrimonial and family law matters, with a special emphasis on contested custody and domestic violence cases.

Joseph R. Williams practices primarily in the field of assisted reproductive technology law, including egg/sperm/embryo donation and gestational surrogacy. Joe works with clients who are looking to start or expand their families through assisted reproduction, and assists clients in protecting their parental rights for their children born through assisted reproduction. Joe also represents surrogates and intended parents in agency surrogacy matches and independent surrogacy matches, including drafting surrogacy agreements and filing parentage proceedings during the surrogate pregnancy. Joe also practices in the fields of matrimonial, family, and adoption law, representing individuals in the negotiation and litigation of separation, divorce, child custody, support and domestic violence matters, as well as all areas of adoption law, including private adoptions, voluntary agency adoptions, foster care adoptions and step/second parent adoptions. He has extensive experience representing clients in the Supreme, Surrogates and Family Courts throughout the Capital District.

Anne was admitted to the bar in New York in 1982 and is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court. She is a member of the New York State Bar Association and Rensselaer County Bar Association and former fellow of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys. Anne graduated from the State University of New York at Albany in 1978. She graduated magna cum laude with a BA in political science. She then graduated from Albany Law School of Union University with JD in 1981. Anne was a partner in the law firm of Martin, Shudt, Wallace, DiLorenzo, Copps & Johnson from 1984 until 1995 when she opened her own office in Albany, New York.

Ellen believes in the importance of clear communication and works diligently to ensure that her clients are well-informed at every step of the legal process. Ellen joined the Copps DiPaola Silverman litigation team in 2022 after completing her first year at Albany Law School. Ellen’s client centric approach began during her career as a recruiter prior to law school. During law school, Ellen became a member of the inaugural class of fellows of Albany Law School’s Women’s Leadership Initiative and won the Donna Jo Morse Client Counseling Competition. Additionally, she represented Albany Law in the ABA’s national Client Counseling Competition as a member of the school’s Moot Court Travel Team.

Ashlee Pestuglicci is the Office Manager at Copps DiPaola Silverman, PLLC. In this position, Ashlee works closely with the Firm’s partners and staff to ensure that clients’ needs and expectations are met. She oversees daily operations and supervises staff to guarantee that the office is running smoothly. She assists in the development and implementation of firm policies and procedures by managing and overseeing administration of Human Resources. Additionally, she manages and oversees all finances of the firm which includes accounts receivables, accounts payables, and managing monthly billing. She also performs various administrative tasks at the request of the Firm’s partners. Ashlee joined the Firm in 2021 as a receptionist/administrative assistant/internal bookkeeper. Prior to that, Ashlee was a Patient Care Coordinator for one of Albany’s largest Orthopedic Surgery practices, where she managed patients for six physicians. She has an extensive background in office administrative. Additionally, she has many years of experience in customer service. Ashlee graduated with an advanced Regents diploma from South Colonie Central High School and attended Hudson Valley Community College. She currently resides in Rotterdam, NY with her husband, Justin, and their son, Mason. Ashlee is a passionate country music fan, she loves traveling, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
