Dr. Sharara and his team are absolutely incredible. I chose to go to him and make the trek from Richmond to Reston after extensive research on who would be “the best” and I’m so thankful I did. He and the staff are professional, thorough, and deeply kind. Not only do I have him to endlessly thank for the gift of my daughter, but thanks to his testing, it was discovered that I had a blood clotting disorder that can cause implantation failure as well as lead to second or third trimester miscarriages, so we were able to treat that and keep baby safe during the pregnancy (and me afterward!). I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sharara and Virginia Center for Reproductive Medicine!
Dr. Fady and the team at VCRM were absolutely wonderful with every step of the process in getting us to pregnancy. They were courteous, helpful, understanding of any questions we had and we will also be grateful to the entire team for helping us grow our family. I highly recommend Dr. Fady Sharara. My husband and I decided to consult with fertility doctor. On our first appoinment Dr. Sharara and VCRM team welcomed us and were very caring. He recommended us to start diet and tests. I was able to lose 10 pounds and performed operation that needed to be done before IVF procedure. We ended up concieving naturally before starting IVF. Dr. Sharara received his B.S in Chemistry in 1982, and his M.D in 1986 from the American University of Beirut. Our Virginia fertility doctor was on the Dean’s honor list during his premedical and medical studies. He completed his residency in OB/GYN at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, DC in 1991, followed by a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility from 1991 to 1994 at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD (which had only one spot per year at the time). He became an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois and Michael Reese Fertility Center post fellowship but returned to the DC metro area as an Assistant Professor and head of IVF program for the University of Maryland in July 1996. He was promoted to Associate Professor before his departure from the University of Maryland in 2000. Dr. Sharara was an Associate Clinical Professor at George Washington University from 2003-2009 and currently is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Dr Sharara is also a reviewer for Fertility and Sterility and Human Reproduction, the two leading scientific journals in the area of Reproduction, along with Journal of Assisted Reproduction and Genetics, Human Fertility, American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology Research, Imaging in Medicine, and the Middle East Fertility Society Journal, and Reproductive Sciences. Dr Sharara has been named one of America’s Who’s Who in Medicine and Health Care every year from 2002 to present, Who’s Who in America in 2004-16, America’s Top Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2007-2016, and is one of the Lead Physicians Expert Panel. Dr Sharara was named to the editorial board of the Middle East Fertility Society Journal in 2013.
