Dr Krinos Trokoudes is a pioneer in reproductive medicine in Cyprus and Greece with tremendous influence on the field. He established Pedieos IVF in 1986 which was the first center in Cyprus and Greece to succeed with ICSI in 1992 after the pioneers of the method in VUB Hospital, Brussels. Pedieos IVF was among the first few centers in the world to have successfully adopted the new method of egg freezing-vitrification with a publication in the Fertility and Sterility Journal in 2011. Dr Krinos Trokoudes has successfully achieved IVF with Egg Donation treatment for the oldest egg recipient in the world for 1992 – 1993, which was 49 years and 54 days of age. His achievement was published in the Guinness Book of Records. Dr Krinos Trokoudes graduated from the Athens Medical School in Greece and trained in the USA and Canada. He then worked for several years in the Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine at the University of Toronto, Canada. During that period, he focused on reproductive endocrinology and published his research work on hormone receptors in the testes, ovaries, thyroid and adrenals.

Stephanos Trokoudes is based in London, UK and focuses on international business relationships with our partner clinics and doctors globally. He deals with the general management of staff at Pedieos as well as the PR & Marketing department for Pedieos IVF Center and Aphrodite Egg Bank. Stephanos studied Business Management at the University of Nottingham in the UK and then after 3 years of working in the pharmaceutical industry went on to complete an MBA from the University of San Diego in the US.

Constantinos Pavlides studied in Greece and received his BSc Degree in Biology from the University of Crete in 2003. He further continued his studies in embryology and achieved the MSc from Nottingham University, UK (Master of Medical Science in Assisted Reproduction Technology). He is currently working as a Senior clinical embryologist in Pedieos IVF Center with special interests in oocyte vitrification , frozen embryo transfer and preimplantation embryo biopsy.

Lucy Papaioannou studied at UCL for her BSc in Biomedical Sciences and Master’s Degree in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine. She worked for 4 years at an IVF clinic in London before coming to work at Pedieos IVF Center. She works as an Embryologist and Clinical Coordinator, coordinating patient treatments, supporting egg and sperm donors and assisting with day to day tasks. She is an optimistic and energetic person, and always happy to help patients through the procedure. She enjoys travelling, cooking and trying new cuisines.

Studied at the University of Cyprus and obtained her BSc in Biology. She continued her studies and achieved a MSc degree in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine from the University of Sheffield. Throughout her studies, she has shown tremendous interest in prenatal genetics, embryology and andrology using molecular, cellular and embryological techniques. She has worked for 2 years as a clinical laboratory officer and quality manager before joining Pedieos IVF Center team. Currently, she is working as an embryologist and clinical coordinator. She is an energetic and hardworking individual, who believes in providing high standards of care through compassion, adapting to the needs and circumstances of the patients.

Dr Katerina Menelaou received her B.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Surrey in 2011 and her M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology from the University of Oxford in 2013. Following that, Katerina was awarded a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, where she studied the multigenerational effects of abnormal folate metabolism on uterine structure and function, and fetoplacental development. As a Research Scientist at Bourn Hall Fertility Clinic in Cambridge (UK), Katerina was responsible for the daily operation of the satellite laboratory of the Meiosis department of Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences (Germany). Katerina was featured on BBC’s ‘The One Show’ programme in an episode celebrating the life of Jean Purdy, pioneer of IVF treatment. She currently works as an embryologist in Pedieos IVF Center.

Victoria Sasheva received her BSc in Ecology and Environmental Science at University of Shumen “Konstantin Preslavski” (Bulgaria) in 2016. She further continued her studies and obtained an MSc in Biotechnical Microbiology at University of Plovdiv “Paiisi Hilendarski” (Bulgaria) in 2018. She worked for 3 years in a Stem Cell Bank before joining Pedieos IVF Center in 2020, where she is currently working as a Donor Coordinator, mainly focusing on donor recruitment and management. She is a perfectionist when it comes to her work and always makes sure that all tasks are followed through in an efficient and timely manner. She is an animal lover and nature enthusiast.

Stefani Panayi studied at Brunel University for her bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences. Later she proceeded with her master’s degree at the University of Cyprus in Molecular Biology. Stefani Panayi worked as a laboratory assistant and technician in a clinical laboratory and has two years of experience in sales and marketing within the pharmaceutical industry. She joined Pedieos IVF Center in 2021 as a medical coordinator and is responsible for coordinating patients’ procedures and needs. Others describe Stefani as a highly organized and detailed-oriented person who is always willing to help.
