Dr. Michael D. Wittenberger is a highly sought-after board-certified reproductive endocrinologist and obstetrician/gynecologist who is well known for his gentle, compassionate care and collaborative approach with his patients. He has over 15 years of expertise in treating patients with all manner of reproductive issues including infertility, restorative surgery, and fertility preservation. Dr. Wittenberger obtained his undergraduate degree at Colorado State University graduating with Highest Distinction within the University Honors Program. He then went on to graduate at the top of his medical school class at the University of Colorado obtaining multiple awards and recognitions along the way including an early induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. After medical school, he entered full-time active duty in the United States Navy and completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California before spending five years overseas in Japan caring for and building military families. He subsequently returned to the United States to pursue his passion in reproductive medicine and completed a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health. Following fellowship, Dr. Wittenberger served in San Diego at the Naval Medical Center before retiring from active duty after 27 years of service to military families. He was the Head of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the Naval Medical Center San Diego, an Assistant Professor of Gynecologic Surgery and Obstetrics at the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and clinical faculty to the Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility fellowship at the University of California San Diego. Dr. Wittenberger received many awards for leadership, teaching and dedicated patient care including both Army and Navy Commendation medals and the Naval Medical Center’s Associate Master Clinician and Master Clinician awards given to the top Navy physicians. Dr. Mabel Lee is a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility specialist who is board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Lee’s patient philosophy emphasizes personalized, holistic, and evidence-based care. She believes in building strong relationships of mutual trust and respect through clear and thorough communication and compassion. Dr. Lee grew up in southern California and received her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from New York University (NYU). She went on to complete her medical degree at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. She then completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center. Finally, she returned to the west coast to complete her fellowship training in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Dr. Lee has won many awards throughout her training including the Scholarship in Teaching Award and the Ova-Achiever Medical Student Teaching Award, which reflects her passion for teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. During her residency training, she was selected to serve as the Executive Chief Resident. She was also awarded the PCRS Physician Scholarship by the Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS). Throughout her career, Dr. Lee has been very active in research. She has been invited to present her research at numerous national conferences and has been published in multiple scientific journals. Her research interests include pre-implantation genetic testing (PGT), improvement in access to care, fertility preservation, onco-fertility, and long-term outcomes of ART. Beyond her medical profession, Dr. Lee has cultivated over a decade of training in both dance and piano. Kay Waud, MD, PhD, FACOG is a double board-certified physician specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She takes a special interest in fertility preservation, recurrent pregnancy loss, and improving fertility outcomes in patients with diminished ovarian reserve. Dr. Waud received her medical degree from the University of California San Diego. Post residency, she pursued a fellowship at the renowned Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine in Norfolk, VA, solidifying her commitment to advancing reproductive health. Furthering her educational experience, Dr. Waud has also been a faculty member at Georgetown University School of Medicine. Before entering the world of medicine, Dr. Waud received a PhD in structural engineering from Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden. Dr. Coffler completed his undergraduate program in Israel at the Israel Institute of Technology, Rappaport School of Medicine, followed by his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Case Western Reserve University (Metro Health) at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, and also at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel. When Dr. Coffler completed those programs, he moved on to his REI fellowship at the University of California San Diego, in La Jolla. Dr. Richard J. Paulson is the Director of USC Fertility, and has been with the practice since 1986. He is also a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. He has been rated one of “The Best Doctors in America” continuously since 1994 and is one of the pioneers of Assisted Reproduction in the USA. Dr. Paulson was part of the team that reported the first successful birth after embryo cryopreservation in the United States, in 1986, the year that he established the USC Fertility practice at USC. He has been the Medical Director of the USC Fertility practice every since. Dr Botros Rizk is a world renowned Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist practicing at our Pasadena office. He is a pioneer in the field of reproductive medicine and infertility. He is also professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the chief of the REI division at the USC Keck School of Medicine. Dr Rizk started his medical career at Cairo University School of Medicine where he graduated and then he went to complete his prestigious fellowship at The Bourn Hall Clinic in London and Cambridge, UK and joined the University of Cambridge as Clinical lecturer and Senior Registrar. He was also the secretary and representative of the Royal College in London (RCOG) to the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG) for six years. Dr. Rizk is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in England, and the American Board of Bioanalysts in Embryology and Andrology. He has edited and authored twenty eight medical textbooks and more than four hundred manuscripts embracing different aspects of infertility and assisted reproduction as well as ultrasonography and robotic surgery. Dr Rizk reported the world’s first 1,000 IVF babies from Bourn Hall Clinic in a landmark publication that settled early concerns about IVF babies. Dr. David E. Tourgeman graduated medical school from the University of Southern California in 1994. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 1998 and his fellowship in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility in 2001 at the USC, Los Angeles County Women’s and Children’s Hospital. After his fellowship, Dr. Tourgeman stayed at USC as faculty and became an assistant professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. After teaching for four years, Dr. Tourgeman began working with HRC Fertility (then Huntington Reproductive Center) in 2005. Dr. Tourgeman currently sees patients in HRC’s Encino office. Dr. Rachel Mandelbaum is an Obstetrician, Gynecologist, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist. She is dedicated to helping her patients navigate their fertility journeys through evidence-based practice, utilizing the most cutting edge technology and science. She believes in a holistic approach to fertility, with a focus on nutrition and both physical and emotional well-being during treatment.
