The clinic’s standpoint has always been that IVF success depends largely on what actions are taken prior to the egg collection procedure and not after. These include the comprehensive investigation of the fertility presentation and its correction or improvement wherever possible. This state-of-the-art establishment measuring 580 square meters of beneficial space is situated on the top floor (4th) of a modern newly constructed building in Limassol, Cyprus.
It incorporates a concealed positively pressurized sterile area designed in the context of a sterilization room, a scrub room, a large egg collection suite, a second theatre hosting embryo replacements and a specifically designed embryology laboratory connected to the two theatres via specially designed airtight windows.
These are complemented by a large contemporary genetics lab for undertaking advanced pre-implantation chromosomal and gene diagnosis, a separate andrology lab and a secluded area constructed specifically for the storage of frozen gametes and embryos.

Dr Savvas Koundouros is an accredited clinical embryologist with more than 30 years of working experience in the field of assisted human reproduction. He is a British graduate (University of Birmingham) and has specialised in clinical science at King’s College Hospital in London. Savvas Koundouros has completed postgraduate (PhD) research work related to polycystic ovarian syndrome manifestation with academic publications in this field and a second PhD degree in Y chromosome gamete enrichment techniques at the Monash University Institute of medical research in Melbourne Australia. His work has been published in major impact factor journals. Savvas has substantial experience in the field of human embryo pre-implantation genetic diagnosis having performed most possibly more embryo biopsies and subsequent diagnoses worldwide. It is estimated that more than 75000 embryos have been biopsied and diagnosed to date. Savvas has personally trained numerous embryologists who are now pursuing a career in this field.
Dr Nearchos Papacostas has over 25 years of experience as a gynaecologist-obstetrician with a specialization in female infertility -assisted reproduction and minimally invasive surgery. He studied Medicine at Sofia Medical University and completed his Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency in Athens and Johannesburg South Africa WITS University. He completed his thesis on high-risk pregnancy Female endocrinology and assisted reproductive technics. He worked as a senior consultant and lecturer at Johannesburg WITS University for several years and as a researcher Fellow in Kings College Hospital, London UK was accredited in Fetal Medicine ultrasonography. He acquired his Bachelor and Master degree in laparoscopic surgery at the Dubai Academy of minimally invasive surgery and Strasbourg (France) IRCAD centre. Dr Papacostas is a member of international scientific societies such as the European Society of Human Reproduction -Endocrinology and the European Society of Gynaecological Endoscopy and an affiliated member of the Dubai Academy of minimally invasive surgery.
Dr Christina Stylianou obtained her medical degree from the University of Athens and received her training at renowned hospitals in Greece, England and Israel. She completed successfully courses and associated training for the clinical investigation of vaginal and cervical pathology at the Whittington hospital under the guidance of Professor Albert Singer and subsequently pursued a 2-year course under Professor Kypros Nicolaides at King’s College Hospital London where she received the accredited diploma in Fetal Medicine. Additional studies and training at St. Peter & Ashford Hospital in London granted her the Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery with a subspecialty in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for endometriosis and subfertility management. During her residenceship in the UK, she also pursued a postgraduate degree (MSc) related to assisted reproduction medicine and infertility at the University of Bristol and worked thereafter in the private sector (Richmond Practice London) as a consultant obstetrician gynaecologist. Prior to her return to Cyprus, she practised her expertise at the Ichilov hospital in Tel-Aviv.
Meet Ms Beata Hornyakova, a Senior Clinical Embryologist, Clinical Geneticist and our Laboratory Manager here at Genesis Fertility Clinic! An ESHRE accredited clinical embryologist with extensive experience in pre-implantation genetic diagnosis techniques involving comprehensive chromosomal and genetic screening of human embryos. She holds a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Comenius University and an ESHRE certification in senior clinical embryology. Beata is the laboratory manager of the clinic.
Ms Evangelia Siambouri holds a bachelor degree in Biological Sciences- Genetics from the University of Leicester. In 2008 she earned her Master’s of Science Degree in Molecular Genetics from the University of Leicester and in 2009 she has specialised in Assisted Reproduction and received her Master of Science in Prenatal Genetics and Fetal Medicine from the University College of London (UCL). She has been trained and served as a senior clinical embryologist since 2010. She is proficient in all aspects of IVF with extensive experience in all assisted reproductive techniques. She is fully committed to treating patients with compassion, respect and her greatest desire is to help people achieve their dream of having children.
Ms Chryso Flouri holds a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Patra’s University and an Embryology Master’s degree from Bristol University. She has international experience in a well established IVF clinic in London. She moved to Cyprus when she started working with Genesis Clinic. She is passionate about her work and she is devoted to helping couples coming to the clinic.
Ms Melina Menelaou holds a bachelor’s degree in Film, Journalism and Broadcasting and a Master’s degree in International Journalism from Cardiff University. She exhibits exceptional organisational skills, whilst her acquirement of an A-Level GCSE in Accounting has helped her gain valuable experience in handling accounting related matters for small businesses. She started working for Genesis Fertility Clinic in 2017 as an Administrator & Finance Officer and as of October 2021 has been promoted and is now the clinic’s manager. Melina is a very creative and sociable individual with an exceptional aptitude regarding individualized patient care.
Ms Lilian Waceke is a Fertility Treatment Coordinator assisting with patient-donor enrolments as well as case management. Having previously worked in Genesis administration for more than 6 years, she is articulate in conveying treatment modalities and regimes to patients after the doctor has contemplated. Lilian is a paralegal by profession, an associate of NALP (National Association of licensed paralegals) and certified in contract and legal document drafting. She is confident, cheerful and has a great passion for fertility treatments.
Ms Kristina graduated from the University of Derby United Kingdom, with a BA (Hons) in Applied Arts. She is an administrator at Genesis, an excellent communicator and a polyglot fluent in English, Greek, German and a slight understanding of French. Kristina is confident in conveying treatment modalities and regimes to both our local and international patients. Due to her previous experience as a cabin crew, Kristina is always alert to respond to emergencies and always happy to assist you with your queries.
Ms Savanna Pittali holds a bachelor’s degree in Public Health from Wolverhampton University, UK. She is the latest addition to the Genesis’ administration team, already exhibiting exceptional organizational and communication skills. Savanna efficiently and effectively offers secretarial and administrative service across the clinic, ensuring high-quality service is provided to our patients.
Ms Christina is in charge of the team’s hygiene, and with over ten years of experience, she ensures that the highest standards of hygiene are maintained in all areas of the clinic at all times.
Tatiana is an accomplished and effective financial director. She is in charge of directing and building internal teams to assist finance, business planning, budgeting, and purchasing. Committed to collaborating with leaders in strategic decision-making operations to design and lead financial-related initiatives and operations.
