I scheduled a consultation for next week, when I scheduled my consultation I was told that they had a referral from my doctor after I sent my health insurance card I get a call saying that they do not have a referral and that it would take 2-3 weeks to get... Are you kidding me I have emails from CCRM and my doctor confirming my referral. I called and no one took my call, they hung up on me and when I called again the lady that answered said she didn't know why someone called me, she was very rude.... Should I take this as a red flag and find a different place? If they are so unorganized when it comes to finances I can't imagine how they will be when it comes down to everything else...

I came to CCRM in October of last year after my PCP gave me a referral for unexplained infertility. Right away I could tell it was going to be a long and impersonal experience. Communication was a problem pretty much from day 1, I had a feeling they had put an incorrect phone number for me because they said they were leaving voicemails that I wasn't getting. Sure enough the Doctor called a wrong number for our consultation and ended up being very last because he had to track down my correct (and only) phone number. Things never really improved. My husband ended up freezing 3 specimens and had to go back to sign or re-sign disclosures 6 times. I had a nearly botched IUI in December which failed and led me to an extremely difficult IVF cycle in April. The finance department is the WORST. They did not do a good job fully explaining what they were going to collect in this "package". I was shocked when I go the email 3 weeks prior to my egg retrieval asking for about $4500 more than I had been expecting to owe. When I asked for a breakdown or justification for collecting "billable" fee's I was met with a lot of attitude and blame. I was left with no choice but to pay the bill in full or else they would cancel my upcoming cycle. They breakdown of cost was for the egg retrieval, CCS testing, a D&C, and a future embryo transfer. I ended up being a poor responder to the stimulating meds and my doctor discussed doing the embryo banking program, which I immediately declined when I heard that it was all out of pocket and was over $17k for round 2 (I told multiple people I was not going forward with the embryo banking idea). I ended up making it to the retrieval but due to some mis communication the D&C wasn't done. Well here we are, 2 weeks after my egg retrieval and I am being rushed into the D&C...which means another physical, COVID test, and procedure under anesthesia (more time off work, more down time for recovery). They also want to collect MORE money even though I gave them a deposit and all of the remaining out of pocket insurance fees. I was furious because the D&C was part of my original care plan, it should have been done at the same time of the egg retrieval, they are the ones who dropped the ball! Now my hopes of a June embryo transfer are pretty much ruined and since my insurance will renew in July, I will get to fork over a few hundred more for services I had expected to receive by June. You can never get a straight answer or talk to a patient advocate. I knew this process would be difficult but I didn't realize how much harder it was going to be by working with CCRM. I thought this process would be exciting and give me hope but honestly I feel even more depressed then ever right now. It feels like nobody there cares about me or has my best interest at heart, like I am just a pot of money walking through a revolving door. I want to leave this clinic so badly but I we are sort of being held hostage because they have the money and the embryos now. If you are considering IVF, you should go for it but go somewhere else besides CCRM.
