Surrogacy Journey with Physicians Surrogacy & RSMC Fertility Clinic I recently completed my surrogacy journey with Physician’s Surrogacy and RSMC Fertility Clinic, giving birth to a healthy baby boy at the end of August. From start to finish, my experience was exceptional, and I’m so grateful for the support I received from both teams. The staff at Physician’s Surrogacy guided me through every step of the process with patience, knowledge, and kindness. I had many questions throughout the journey, and they were always willing to take the time to explain things and make sure I understood what was coming next. My case manager, Theresa, was beyond amazing. She was incredibly professional, kind, and caring, always going above and beyond to ensure I was taken care of. No matter what bumps we encountered along the way, Theresa was there, resolving issues immediately and keeping everything on track. I never had to ask for anything twice, and her dedication made the process feel seamless. The matching process paired me with the most wonderful intended parents. We aligned on everything, and it truly felt like the perfect match. One of the most unforgettable moments of my life was witnessing the parents meet their baby for the first time—something I will cherish forever. When it came to compensation and medical billing, everything was handled with efficiency and transparency. I received my compensation on time every month, and the medipay department was incredibly prompt in handling all medical bills. As soon as they received the bills, payments were made almost immediately, which gave me peace of mind throughout the entire journey. The IVF process through RSMC Fertility Clinic was equally impressive. The clinic was organized, and I received clear instructions at every stage. My IVF coordinator was always timely and supportive, and the doctors and nurse practitioners were extremely knowledgeable, explaining everything to me in detail. The staff made me feel comfortable, and I never felt like I was just a “carrier”—I truly felt valued as a person. One of the highlights of my journey was the personal connection I formed with Theresa. She reached out to me every week, not just to check on the process but to get to know me as a person. That relationship made such a difference, and I feel fortunate to have had such a supportive case manager. I am so happy with my experience that I plan to reapply to be a surrogate again once I have healed. Dr. Suri is board-certified in Pediatrics and Neonatology. He served as chief fellow at Columbia University. Dr. Suri is an attending neonatologist at both Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns and at Rady Children’s Hospital San Diego. Additionally, he is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California at San Diego and has presented his research at several national and international conferences. He specializes in all aspects of newborn medicine, with interest in non-invasive ventilation and functional echocardiography.
Dr. Schwendemann joined San Diego Perinatal Center in 2009. His clinical interests include chorionic villus sampling, hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, preterm birth prevention and monoamniotic twin pregnancy. Dr. Schwendemann has served on the board of the San Diego Blood Bank for seven years and the obstetrics supervisory committee at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women & Newborns for three years.
Dr. Hui is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN), providing full scope obstetric and gynecologic care. Her clinical interests include normal and high-risk obstetrics, cycle suppression, and various gynecologic issues, such as cysts, fibroids, endometriosis, abnormal uterine bleeding, prolapse, and urinary incontinence. In addition, she performs minimally invasive, robotic and vaginal surgeries.
Dr. Cizmar is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery, through the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. With his expertise in obstetrics, Dr. Cizmar counsels and treats patients who struggle with infertility issues. He also addresses concerns related to menopause and the associated symptoms.
Dr. Garg is an obstetrician and gynecologist (OB-GYN) with expertise in general obstetrics and gynecology. He provides complete prenatal care to help his patients achieve the healthiest possible pregnancy and delivery. He also specializes in minimally invasive surgical procedures, such as laparoscopy and minimally invasive robotic surgery, including single-site robotic surgery.
Dr. Castillo is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and provides services at Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns, Pomerado Hospital, Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla and Sharp Grossmont Hospital.
Dr. Kohatsu is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist providing comprehensive services for women at Poway Women’s Care in San Diego. Dr. Kohatsu is skilled in a wide variety of gynecology diagnostics and treatments. She also specializes in gynecology surgical procedures and is affiliated with Palomar Medical Center Poway.
