Our Program Director, Leah Potter, brings invaluable insight through her own experience with infertility, helping ensure that all parties feel prepared, supported, and understood. Rather than employing in-house legal counsel, we partner with experienced legal professionals, allowing us to provide neutral guidance and balanced support to everyone involved. With over fifteen years of combined experience in reproductive technology, our leadership brings a high level of expertise to this evolving field. I had wanted to be a surrogate for a very long time, and was so grateful I had a friend that went through this journey with Family Choice prior to me to be able to refer me with this team. Can I just say they were phenomenal! Always responsive, never treated me like just a number (which I read horror stories online with some companies) but they really were with me along the way. After experiencing her own infertility journey, Leah began working at a local law firm assisting with Assisted Reproductive matters for over five years. Leah was able to help families navigate the complicated world of surrogacy, embryo adoption, egg/sperm donation to see them ultimately fulfill their dreams of becoming parents. Her passion for helping families, sparked by her own experience, inspired her to launch Family Choice Surrogacy. Prior to working in ART, Leah was an accomplished Organizational and Human Resources leader for 15 years in many different industries. She has led many teams and organizations to success. Leah has her B.S. in Organizational Leadership. Leah is a trained birth doula. She is actively involved in the infertility community as a mentor and advocate. She lends her passion to advocacy for increased access to family-building options and financial relief.
Kristie’s role at Family Choice Surrogacy is to help coordinate the qualifying, matching and pregnancy journeys for surrogates in our program. As a former surrogate, Kristie can provide guidance, advice, and support for our surrogates. Kristie is a 2x surrogate, and she knows how wonderful this process can truly be. In 2015 she gave birth to a beautiful little girl for a loving couple in South Carolina. In 2017 she gave birth to a set of twins for another couple. Both experiences were so special to her heart that she sought to still be involved with surrogacy through helping others through the process. Kristie has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a passion for helping people.
Mariah’s role at Family Choice Surrogacy is to coordinate every aspect of the surrogacy journey, ensuring seamless communication among Intended Parents, surrogates, and professionals while overseeing key processes from matching to delivery. Mariah has a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the world of Assisted Reproductive Technology. A dedicated wife and proud mom of two, she is pursuing her Master of Social Work (MSW). Her journey into surrogacy work is both personal and professional, having been a surrogate herself and working in the ART field since 2021. Before discovering her love for surrogacy, Mariah was a birth and postpartum doula, running her own successful business. She’s also a former EMT, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to caring for others.
