I feel it’s important to share my experience with the owner of Alcea Surrogacy after a very unsettling experience in a Facebook agency review group for surrogates and intended parents yesterday. When I first joined the conversation I was talking about exclusivity agreements and expressing some concerns about agency's that have them. I put the picture of my comment to show what made her so mad and be honest about what I said. I get that it's probably hard to hear criticism but as a business you would think the owner would respond professionally. She did not do that. Angela repplied and immediately accused me of being two other people I don’t even know. This accusation was completely false and led to a back and forth that eventually resulted in her comment: “I hope you make it through the night of fear” which sshe deleted later but thankfully I took a screenshot first. I can’t even describe how that felt. It was shocking and unprofessional especially because she’s in a position of power within an agency. It didn’t feel like a joke and honestly it felt like a threat. After the whole thing, the two people who Angela accused me of being commented publicly to confirm they were not me because I posted anonymously. This made it clear that Angela has so many hostile exchanges with people in Facebook groups that she can’t even keep track of who’s who. I could be one of so many people who probably have the same expeince, which is why I’m thankful she doesn’t know my identity. I don't know how someone can run a surrogacy agency very well when they are starting fights in public surrogate Facebook groups so often that they have a reputation for it. I have NEVER seen any other agency behave this way it is truly shocking. If you look at the other google review here this is not the first time she has cause distress to someone with her behavior online. Posting this review even makes me anxious because Angela has a history of trying to intimidate people and even doxxing Facebook group admins who speak out about Alcea. I worry she will dig through my account somehow and find out who I am since I did apply at the agency before I knew the red flags and they have my personal info. That being said I think it’s important to share my expeience so that other surrogates and intended parents can be aware of what they might deal with if they work with her or her agency. I know there are other people who’ve had the same experiences and I don’t want anyone else to go through this. I think this agency should be shut down. It’s a shame because surrogacy is such a emotional process and it deserves professionalism and respect that you will not find here.
