***Response to the owner*** It is very unfortunate that you are being so dishonest and resorting to lies regarding our exchange. But I am not surprised that you do not want to admit that you acted with such unprofessionalism to a surrogate with good intentions. You were incredibly nasty & aggressive towards me before I said anything to you. I absolutely did not call you over the phone at any time. Nor did I call you any names over facebook but I did tell you that you were not qualified in any capacity to give me medical advice which you aren't. That is the doctor& the clinic's job. You do not have the credentials. I have been approved for surrogacy by several reputable agencies &clinics &by the best maternal fetal medicine doctor in Los Angeles. Your agency is ignorant about cholestasis and I find it very interesting that even after 3 months you haven't educated yourself properly & are providing misinformation. Cholestasis is evaluated on a case by case basis. My cholestasis was extremely mild and did not develop it with my last pregnancy which is why I am eligible to be a surrogate. Cholestasis has become common & many RE's approve it as long as it was not severe. The risk of infant death is less than 2% & I've actually spoken to two seasoned MFM and they both said they have never had an infant die from the condition because it is very easy to monitor and treat and usually isn't severe. But I guess you are still claiming that your opinion is above a doctors which shows that you are irrational and unwilling to learn. There are more IP's out there than there are surrogates so if the risk is low & all parties agree there is no reason why some surrogates with this condition cannot help a family in need. I can understand your concern but it is not your decision & you shouldn't lie and berate women for wanting to be surrogates. If your agency doesn't want to work with a surrogate with this condition- that's one thing. But to lie and say that it's a disqualifier and that you should be ashamed for attempting to be a surrogate is another. I am disgusted that you would say I am pursuing surrogacy for greed. And then to LIE & say that I called your office & called you names? You are not only unprofessional but a LIAR. You are leaving this comment months after the incident more than likely because you are losing business which is why you are "salty" & resorting to lying which is shameful. To clarify I did not apply to be a surrogate at alsea. There are surrogate groups on Facebook where people go to get questions about surrogacy. A woman wanted to know if she could be a surrogate because she had a mild case of cholestasis & I informed her that yes it's possible depending on the severity. The owner of Alsea Angela then verbally attacked me & told me I should be ashamed for pursuing surrogacy among other things. She did not ask any questions. This group is known for women bullying other women when they disagree. Angela you are a bully & a liar & you should be ashamed for behaving this way. An apology would've been better & I maybe would've removed my review if it was sincere! ***Initial review*** I am a gestational surrogate. This morning I had a nasty exchange with the owner of Alsea Surrogacy, named Angela on Facebook. She expressed how ashamed I should be because I am pursuing surrogacy because I have in the past had a condition called cholestasis. I have been approved by doctors, agencies, a MFM & my OBGYN and yet she still chose to berate me about my decision to pursue surrogacy & give me advise that to my understanding, she is not qualified to give. Not all agencies or doctors feel this way & I told her that it is a case by case basis and depends on the severity. Regardless of that she continued to berate me about my decision & it upset me deeply. I have always dreamed of being a surrogate and giving the gift of life to people who are unable to. It's healthy and ok to disagree but I would never work with an agency owner who is so judgemental & rude especially considering the sensitive nature of surrogacy.
