As the Founding Partner and Medical Director at Main Line Fertility, Dr. Michael Glassner’s personal philosophy is to always provide the most caring, personalized treatment for all patients. With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Dr. Glassner is both a scientist and clinician and has treated many patients from across the globe. An award-winning physician and a true pioneer in his field, Dr. Glassner’s prolific research has helped lead to breakthroughs in the treatment of infertility. Most notably, he has been involved with major achievements including the first pregnancy and live birth in the world to use early screen with Next Generation Sequencing. As a top physician, he has been featured on many national news programs and is often called upon to comment as a valued and respected source in the field. Dr. Glassner considers himself literally “born” into the field, as he was a product of a successful fertility treatment in the late 1950s, when his own parents suffered through infertility for five years before he was born. In recent years, he also has the unique experience of being a doctor and patient simultaneously.

A self-described cheerleader at heart, Dr. Deanna Brasile, DO is a fertility specialist who is devoted to encouraging her patients through their unique and sometimes challenging medical journey. With a stellar reputation, she is known for her extensive medical knowledge as well as her natural enthusiasm and empathy. “This career is extremely rewarding to me, and I believe in treating my fertility patients as if they are my best friends. I really do have a cheerleading background, and I love reassuring those who need it most, and raising the spirits of those around me every day.” Due to focusing on her career, Dr. Brasile became a parent a bit later in life, and truly relates to her fertility patients, as each person’s choices and pathways in adulthood rarely go as planned. “I fully understand that everyone’s circumstances are different, and all patients require and deserve personalized treatments that are created just for them. I enjoy getting to know my patients and their families. After years of working in this field, I still feel that it’s a privilege to help bring children into the world.” Dr. Brasile has been an invaluable team member for over a decade and directs Main Line Fertility’s Egg Freezing program. An award-winning physician, Dr. Brasile is known for her extensive research in diminished ovarian reserve, and she has been published in numerous scholarly journals on this topic. She’s also passionate about teaching, and is currently involved with Drexel College of Medicine’s reproductive endocrinology and infertility fellowship training program.

Allison Bloom, DO, MPH is a specialist in reproductive endocrinology and infertility and directs Main Line Fertility’s Third Party and Egg Donor programs. Dr. Bloom also serves as the Global LGBTQ+ Ambassador for The Prelude Network. She joined MLF as a fellow in 2017 and began practicing as an attending physician in 2020. In the five years prior to fellowship, Dr. Bloom practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology at Pennsylvania Hospital. Dr. Bloom is experienced in the field of in vitro fertilization with a particular interest in recurrent pregnancy loss, polycystic ovarian syndrome, egg freezing, and LGBTQ+ family building. In addition to her medical training, Dr. Bloom earned a Masters in Public Health and is an advocate for fertility awareness and education. She truly believes in teaching and empowering her patients. Dr. Bloom and her wife underwent infertility treatment for over a year before successfully conceiving with IVF and welcoming twin boys into their family. “Our personal journey to motherhood has allowed me to better understand the emotional and physical toll infertility treatments can have on my patients and their partners.” As an avid learner and an active member of many professional societies, Dr. Bloom feels that it is important to continually educate herself on the latest advancements in the field of infertility. “What I find so exciting about this field of medicine is the enormous strides we are continually taking. It’s imperative for patients to know about the latest research and technology when considering their treatment options. Through my on-going learning, I ensure that my patients have the best opportunity for success.”

With over thirty years of experience in assisting patients with fertility issues, Dr. Ben Gocial, MD, is a recognized leader in this unique and critical field of medicine. He is board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and focused on providing exceptionally compassionate, quality care. In his practice, Dr. Gocial is dedicated to establishing a trustworthy bond with his patients as they embark on their treatments. With firsthand knowledge of the fertility process, he believes that connecting with his patients is essential every step of the way. In fact, it’s especially important for him that his patients at Main Line Fertility understand that he has a personal experience with infertility. “I enjoy getting to know my patients as people, including their dreams and aspirations. I empathize completely with them because my wife and I have gone through fertility treatments. So, I understand the nuances of the process. Today, we are lucky to have two children, but I can relate to the struggles – the emotional ups and downs, the heartbreak and the physical aspects as well. Because we experienced the journey of infertility and pregnancy loss, I do everything possible to provide patients with a comfortable and positive experience.” Born in Boras, Sweden, Dr. Gocial was raised in Philadelphia and earned his medical degree from the Temple University School of Medicine. A pioneer in the field, Dr. Gocial is credited with establishing the first In Vitro Fertilization program at Jefferson University Hospital — when IVF was in its infancy. Committed to being at the forefront of innovation and research, Dr. Gocial has a great deal of expertise in minimally invasive surgeries (including advanced methods of operative hysteroscopy and laparoscopy). “I’m always excited to learn about groundbreaking technologies and most importantly, the opportunity it offers fertility patients. I perform robotic surgery and minimally-invasive surgery just about every day, and use the most technologically-advanced methods available.” Dr. Gocial is also a leader in the study of repeated pregnancy loss, an area of medicine that is incredibly important to him. His expertise in other specialties include ovulation induction, IUI, (including fertility preservation for oncologic or age-related purposes), donor egg or embryo and genetic testing as well as management for genetic screening or single gene defects. Through his clinical experience, research and dedication to patient support, Dr. Gocial’s ultimate goal is to help all of his patients experience parenthood.

Sensitivity, respect and individualized care are the main components of Dr. Shahab Minassian’s personal philosophy when treating patients at Main Line Fertility. “My mission is for all of our patients under our care to have the best possible experience at Main Line Fertility. We know that many new patients may have been struggling for a long time before they make an appointment with us, so I believe that it’s incredibly important for us to be especially sensitive to their needs and respectful from the very beginning. We do everything we can to ensure a positive experience from the moment they arrive at our doorstep.” A Philadelphia native, Dr. Minassian is a father and husband as well as a renowned expert in Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), specifically in the relationship between infertility and PCOS. Dedicated to his fertility patients and his career, Dr. Minassian also draws upon his own family relationships and spirituality every day as he gets to know and treat his patients. “It gives me the inspiration to move forward and provide strength during the times when I need to be the most supportive to those patients who may need some extra care,”

Dr. Shannon Alexa is an OB/GYN physician specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology. She received her DO from the College of Osteopathic Medicine at the University of New England and has earned numerous academic awards and professional certifications. At Main Line Fertility, she closely collaborates with the medical team to treat women’s health and infertility conditions. Dr. Alexa is dedicated to assisting patients who are trying to grow their families. “Fertility medicine is all about hope; hope for the future, for a new treatment, for building a family. I love this field because every day we are pushing the envelope, determined to provide our patients with more options through education, research and activism.” Dr. Alexa is passionate about furthering her knowledge and experience at MLF. “ I am so honored to be a part of the Main Line Fertility family. This practice offers exceptional care from leaders in the field while maintaining a personalized relationship with each patient. I have never met a care team so dedicated to their patients.” Throughout her education, she has published research in medical journals and volunteered in underserved communities to provide healthcare assistance. Dr. Alexa believes in empowering her patients through honest communication and education. Dr. Alexa currently resides in New Jersey with her family and three dogs. Dr. Somkuti is a Board Certified Reproductive Endocrinologist who completed his training at Duke University and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Dr. Somkuti joined Main Line Fertility in June of 2023. ​He is the ​Former Division ​Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Abington Memorial Hospital in Abington, PA. He is a Professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences in the School of Medicine at Temple University, a Clinical Assistant Professor at Jefferson Medical College, and a visiting scientist in the Department of Biology at Lehigh University. Dr. Somkuti also holds a Ph.D from Duke University where he focused his research on Reproductive Toxicology. “Both of my parents were scientists who nurtured my passion and curiosity in the field of medicine. During my college years, I had the opportunity to work in a prestigious fertility laboratory, and since then, I’ve been deeply committed to this field.” Dr. Somkuti has extensive experience and expertise in surgical and medical treatments of infertility and IVF. His research pursuits range from understanding endometriosis and its effects on implantation, to exploring connections between fertility and the environment. Dr. Somkuti’s areas of interest include: female and male infertility and reproductive endocrinology, IVF and ICSI, ​effects of the environment on reproduction, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), ​oncofertility and fertility preservation. “We experienced infertility and many of the same issues that our patients have been through. There’s nothing like understanding the heartbreak of not being able to achieve pregnancy.”

Dr. Jenna Kahn is a distinguished board-certified OBGYN and fertility specialist. With a wealth of expertise and an unwavering commitment, she is your guide through the intricate journey towards reproductive wellness and parenthood. Dr. Kahn earned her medical degree with distinctive honors from George Washington University. She completed her residency in OBGYN at Penn Medicine’s Pennsylvania Hospital and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Montefiore Medical Center in New York. With a deep understanding of reproductive health, Dr. Kahn specializes in In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), offering you tailored solutions to enhance your chances of conception. Her areas of interest in polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), fertility preservation, reproductive genetics including embryo mosaicism, and management of poor responders in IVF. “What truly sets the fertility profession apart is it’s commitment to inclusivity and personalized care. Allison Tomack, PA-C, MPAS joined Main Line Fertility as Physician Assistant in December of 2020. Allison graduated from the University of Central Florida and received her Bachelor of Science. With a passion to pursue medicine, Allison moved to Philadelphia in 2018 for Physician Assistant School. In 2020, Allison graduated with her Master of Medical Science/Physician Assistant Studies from Salus University. At Main Line Fertility, Allison is responsible for evaluating and diagnosing patients, prescribing medication, and treating patients as well as performing IUIs, STPs, HSGs, hysteroscopies, and endometrial biopsies. Allison loves connecting with patients on a personal level and being able assist them in building their family. Outside of being able to assist patient’s in achieving their dreams of building a family become a reality, Allison also loves the camaraderie between the staff and patients. Allison loves to spend time with her family and friends, working out, traveling, and trying out Philadelphia restaurants.

Rachel Burner is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in Reproductive Endocrinology. With more than 4 years of experience as a nurse practitioner and 5 years as a registered nurse, Rachel brings a wealth of knowledge to her role at Main Line Fertility. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Rachel completed both her undergraduate and graduate degrees at James Madison University. She spent the last few years working at a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice in Washington, D.C., where she developed a passion for working with women and providing care throughout their cancer journeys. Rachel and her husband recently moved to the Philadelphia area, where she is excited to work in women’s health and help others achieve their dream of building a family. Rachel is committed to empowering her patients by providing education and support throughout their journey. She understands that infertility can be a difficult and trying experience and strives to be a source of comfort for those undergoing treatment. Her ultimate goal is to help her patients make informed decisions about their fertility and grow their families. In her free time, Rachel enjoys gardening, traveling with her husband, and spending time in Lewes. She also looks forward to an annual ski trip every winter.

Katie Gavern is a qualified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and the Third-Party Coordinator for the intended parents/gestational carrier program at Main Line Fertility. Katie joined Main Line Fertility in January 2023 after working as a Nurse Practitioner at a private OB/GYN practice in New Jersey, caring for women across their lifespan. For almost ten years prior, she practiced as a Registered Nurse on a cardiac unity at Lankenau Medical Center. Katie has always had interest in fertility and wanted to dedicated her life to helping individuals build a family. After seeing both of her sisters’ struggle with infertility for years and both were able to successfully have a child, Katie loves nothing more than assisting others on their journey to become parents. ”The field of fertility is constantly evolving! I am excited to constantly see all of the advances that will help my patients accomplish their dreams.” Katie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Scranton and went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Women’s Health and gender-related studies at Drexel University. She is board-certified and licensed to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in both PA and NJ. In her free time, Katie loves spending time with her family and friends, trying out new exercise classes, cooking new recipes, and exploring new places, foods, and cultures.

Gina is a board-certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and advanced practice provider. She joined the clinical team as a Registered Nurse in February 2021 where she first began her career with Sincera Reproductive Medicine. Since then, she has transitioned into her role as a midlevel provider. Gina received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy University in 2015. She found a passion while working as a Registered Nurse for Women’s Health and went on to pursue her Master of Science in Nursing degree at Drexel University with personal concentration in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. As a nurse practitioner, she sees a variety of new and established patients, conducts follow-up appointments, and performs ultrasounds, IUIs, endometrial biopsies, saline sonograms, hysterosalpingograms (HSGs), and physical examinations. Gina is certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC) and is an active member of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) and the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. Gina is deeply committed to empowering her patients and guiding them through their journey to parenthood. “Aside from the joy I receive from connecting with patients, I enjoy the science and innovative research involved in this expanding field.” Outside of work, Gina loves to spend her free time at the beach, traveling and enjoying the company of her husband, family and friends.

Breanna is a certified physician assistant who is passionate about educating and supporting her patients. Previously, Breanna has worked in women’s health specializing in breast surgical oncology and was a certified high-risk OB/GYN sonographer. Breanna received her Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Pennsylvania College of Technology and Master of Medical Science from Saint Francis University. She takes pride in advocating for women’s health and values establishing personal connections with her patients. “Infertility is a very vulnerable topic that is not spoken about enough. I chose this profession in order to help patients feel comfortable with their situation, to build confidence to be able to overcome their infertility diagnosis, and to help guide them to conceive.” In her downtime Breanna enjoys spending time with her family, playing with her golden retriever, traveling and exploring new locations and restaurants.
